Roo Thomas accepts AFL fine for Crow bump

North Melbourne forward Lindsay Thomas has accepted a $1000 fine for his bump on Adelaide’s Matthew Jaensch.

Thomas ,27, faced a $1500 fine if he chose to contest the rough conduct charge, but the AFL tribunal won’t sit on Tuesday evening after he entered an early guilty plea.

The Kangaroos forward bumped Jaensch from behind during Sunday’s NAB Challenge match in Port Lincoln.

The match review panel judged it was intentional conduct and low impact to the body after reviewing video footage of the incident.

Thomas was the first player to be charged under the revamped tribunal guidelines that were implemented after a review at the end of last season.

The same incident under the old system could potentially have earned him a one-week suspension.

In other incidents assessed, the panel cleared Thomas’ teammate Jack Ziebell for high contact with Tom Lynch, who was concussed in the incident.

Richmond defender Steven Morris was also cleared for a clash with Western Bulldogs youngster Josh Prudden on Sunday at Whitten Oval.
