Port’s Jonas to be fit for AFL final

Port Adelaide expect backman Tom Jonas to overcome injury and play against Hawthorn in Saturday’s AFL preliminary final.

Jonas suffered a corked thigh and was substituted during the Power’s semi-final victory against Fremantle last Saturday.

But Port’s high performance manager Darren Burgess says Jonas should be right to confront the Hawks in the MCG final.

“Tommy’s corkie was enough to make the call on the sub, we felt he wouldn’t be able to compete as we would have needed him to for the rest of the game,” Burgess told Port’s website on Monday.

“But we’re really positive about his outlook for this week. We would expect him to get through training and put his hand up for selection.”
