Patrick Dangerfield looking dangerous for brownlow medal

Patrick Dangerfield has come from nowhere to be a real contender for the Brownlow medal, firming from $41 to $18 over the weekend with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au.

Dangerfield opened as a $201 chance before the season, with one smart punter having $50 each way on him for a potential collect of $12,600 should he win.

Dangerfield’s midfielder partner in crime Scott Thompson has also firmed in Brownlow betting, into $14 from $21.

Scott Pendlebury still remains favourite after firming from $7.00 to $5.00, while Jobe Watson has moved into second favouritism at $8.00.

Dane Swan has been the big slider, out from $10 to $21.

“At least one punter saw Dangerfield’s odds at $201 and jumped on. His last 4 weeks have been incredible and his odds have shrunk each week as he now looks like a real contender,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.

“With Scott Thompson also a chance, it will be interesting to see if they take votes off each other.”
