Tom Papley’s outstanding start to his AFL career has earned the Sydney youngster the latest Rising Star nomination.

The 19-year-old kicked two goals and had 20 disposals on Saturday as the Swans beat West Coast by 39 points.

“He was fantastic in that first half, so lively and added some real bite all over the ground,” said Sydney coach John Longmire.

“He was right up and about which was a real credit to him.

“West Coast are a good team and it was a hot game and he was right at the forefront of it.”

The Swans took Papley with pick 14 in the rookie draft at the end of last year and he has played every game so far this season.
