Mitch Robinson given two-match bump ban

Carlton’s Mitch Robinson has been given a two-match ban by the AFL match review panel, his third suspension of the season.

Robinson was charged for his high bump on Leigh Adams in the Blues’ shock win over North Melbourne last Friday night at Etihad Stadium.

The 25-year-old’s poor record means an early plea won’t save him from missing games against Fremantle and Gold Coast.

Robinson was booked for striking St Kilda’s Jack Newnes and Collingwood midfielder Taylor Adams in rounds eight and 15 respectively.

Leigh Adams was the only other player charged by the panel after it assessed the opening five matches of round 18.

Adams can escape with a reprimand for striking Blues defender Simon White if he logs an early plea.

The match-day report laid against Port Adelaide key forward Jay Schulz for striking Melbourne’s Lynden Dunn was thrown out.
