Mitch Clark eyeing AFL comeback

Mitch Clark, who retired this year at age 26 after battling depression, is contemplating a return to the AFL.

Clark was diagnosed with clinical depression and announced in March he was retiring immediately to concentrate on his health.

The Nine Network reported on Sunday that Clark was shaping up to return, but wouldn’t be playing for the Demons in 2015.

“He’s in great shape. It is more than likely he will put his hand up and attempt to get back into the AFL,” Clark’s manager Colin Young said in a statement to Nine.

Clark suffered a series of injuries in a promising AFL career as a ruck-forward, which started in 2005 when he was drafted by Brisbane.
