Gun recruit Clayton Oliver and on-the-mend midfielder Jack Trengove won’t travel with Melbourne’s AFL side to Alice Springs to play Port Adelaide.

Demons coach Paul Roos, while confirming Dom Tyson and Neville Jetta would return to the side, said the club was a taking a cautious approach to selecting any recent draftees.

“It’s something we have to keep on monitoring over the next month until we get to the bye because being a young team, you never know when they’re going to hit a bit of a wall,” he said.
