Gold Coast key forward Tom Lynch will miss the Suns’ round-one AFL match against Melbourne after accepting his rough conduct charge.
He is the first player to be suspended under the revamped tribunal system.
Lynch was booked for his contact with Greater Western Sydney defender Matt Buntine during Saturday’s NAB Challenge match at Spotless Stadium.
The Suns centre half-forward cannot serve the ban during the rest of the pre-season.
St Kilda ruckman Billy Longer also accepted a $1000 fine for striking Essendon acting captain Paul Chapman during Saturday’s pre-season game in Morwell.
