Lion Clarke retires due to concussion

Brisbane Lions defender Justin Clarke has been forced into an early AFL retirement due to ongoing symptoms from concussion.

Clarke informed his teammates of his decision on Thursday morning, having failed to overcome the effects of a head knock he suffered during a pre-season training session in January.

Clarke, 22, made his debut in 2013 and played 56 AFL games for the Lions.
