Jetta faces AFL fine for rough conduct

Sydney speedster Lewis Jetta faces a $1500 fine for rough conduct in the wake of the emotion-charged loss to West Coast.

The match review panel penalised Jetta for his contact with Elliot Yeo in the last quarter of Sunday’s match.

That was the same quarter where Jetta made his war dance cry in support of teammate Adam Goodes, who was booed by the home crowd.

Jetta, North Melbourne captain Andrew Swallow and Hawthorn defender Josh Gibson received larger $1500 fines because they were their second offences this season.

Swallow was charged for a high bump on Brisbane opponent James Aish and Gibson punched Carlton’s Blaine Boekhorst in the midriff.

Boekhorst’s teammate Nick Holman was offered a one-game ban for his crude spoil that caught Hawks forward Luke Breust high.

Adelaide’s Richard Douglas can accept a $1000 fine for rough conduct against Gold Coast player Matt Shaw.

Western Bulldogs young gun Jackson McCrae is also facing the same penalty for rough conduct against Collingwood newcomer Brayden Maynard.

But the match-day report against Richmond star Dustin Martin for striking Fremantle’s Lee Spurr was dropped.
