Hawks’ Sicily accepts one-match AFL ban

Hawthorn forward James Sicily will miss his side’s crucial AFL clash with North Melbourne after accepting a one-match ban for belting Bernie Vince.

Sicily was charged with striking the Melbourne veteran in round 20 and would have risked a two-game suspension if he’d taken the case to the tribunal.

The undermanned Hawks, who are coming off a shock loss to the Demons, risk slipping outside the top four if they’re unable to defeat North.

The tribunal won’t sit on Tuesday.

Hawks superstar Cyril Rioli, North’s Jed Anderson and St Kilda midfielder Blake Acres logged early pleas in response to their charges.

Anderson was fined $1500, while Rioli and Acres were each docked $1000.
