Hawthorn insist that forward Luke Breust is going nowhere as they prepare for a busy AFL trade period.

The Hawks shape as one of the key players in the trade period, which starts with four hours of meetings between the clubs from 10am on Monday (AEDT) at Etihad Stadium.

There has been speculation that Breust might be on the table as they try to recruit Gold Coast’s Jaeger O’Meara and Sydney midfielder Tom Mitchell.

But as he arrived at Etihad Stadium, Hawks recruiting manager Graham Wright was adamant that Breust is not up for trade.

Likewise, Wright does not expect fellow forward James Sicily to leave the Hawks.

According to the Herald Sun, Mitchell is about to tell the Swans he wants a trade to Hawthorn.

Also on Monday morning, Tom Rockliff’s manager Tom Petroro said he expects the Brisbane captain to stay at the club.

Speculation about Rockliff’s future intensified further late last week when the club publicly criticised him after he apologised for a social media gaffe.

Petroro told RSN927 that Rockliff will meet this week with new Lions coach Chris Fagan.

“Unless something different comes out of that meeting than what I expect, I find it hard to see Tom move through this period,” Petroro said.

“At this point, I’m pretty confident. There can be changes through the trade period (but) I doubt Tom will be going anywhere.”

Petroro added Nick Dal Santo, delisted by North Melbourne at the end of the season, is likely to retire.
