Hawthorn insist they aren’t playing well enough to win finals despite the side retaining top spot on the AFL ladder.

The Hawks defeated Port Adelaide by 22 points last week but forward Paul Puopolo said his side was being smashed in contested ball.

“We think we need to get better because with sides like Sydney and Geelong their best footy is really good. We just think we’re not quite there yet,” Puopolo told RSN radio.
