Key position player Lachlan Hansen has resisted overtures from several other AFL clubs to sign a two-year contract extension with North Melbourne.
Hansen, 24, had been linked to a number of clubs, including Fremantle and Greater Western Sydney, during this month’s trade period.
But the No.3 pick from the 2006 national draft decided to extend his time with the Kangaroos.
He kicked 20 goals in 12 matches this season, despite not breaking into the senior lineup until round 13.
Hansen has played 79 games for the Kangaroos and kicked 69 goals.
His previous deal expired at the end of the 2012 season.
