Greater Western Sydney forward Steve Johnson will miss the Giants’ AFL preliminary final after accepting a one-match ban.

Johnson was sanctioned for a shoulder bump to the head of Sydney’s Josh Kennedy in Saturday’s qualifying final and risked missing the grand final if the Giants challenged the ban.

The 33-year-old will now miss the September 24 final against either Hawthorn or the Western Bulldogs at Spotless Stadium.
