Gibbs accepts two-match AFL ban

Carlton midfield star Bryce Gibbs will miss the Blues’ upcoming AFL matches against Gold Coast and the Western Bulldogs after accepting the early guilty plea to his rough conduct charge against Port Adelaide’s Robbie Gray.

Gibbs risked a three-match sanction had he unsuccessfully challenged the charge at the AFL tribunal.

Gibbs’ sling tackle on Gray was deemed to be careless and of high impact.

The tribunal is not required to sit on Tuesday night after all five players charged by the match review panel in round 12 took early guilty pleas.
