Geelong extend teens’ AFL contracts

Geelong has signed exciting teenage talents Nakia Cockatoo and Cory Gregson for a further year, to the end of the 2017 AFL season.

Tall midfielder Cockatoo excited the crowd with a 65m super goal in a pre-season match Simonds Stadium.

Fellow 18-year-old Gregson, a 175cm small forward, played in all three of the club’s pre-season games.

“Both boys have managed to impress through their skill and personal values in their short time here,” said Cats general manager of football Steve Hocking.

Cockatoo and Gregson were drafted to the club with picks 10 and 47 respectively, selections the club received after a last-minute trade week exchange with the Adelaide Crows for picks 14 and 35.
