Gold Coast are on the verge of confirming that Rodney Eade will be their new AFL coach.
But details have to be finalised and no announcement is expected until later this week.
Eade coached Sydney to the 1996 grand final and also led the Western Bulldogs to three-straight preliminary finals from 2008-10.
He has been at Collingwood since 2011 and last year became their football director.
The Suns met with Eade on Monday and he reportedly will join them on a three-year deal.
Gold Coast sacked their foundation coach Guy McKenna on October 1.
