Crows draftee assaulted: club report

New Adelaide Crows draftee Luke Brown has made a police report after he was assaulted on the weekend, the club said in a statement.

According to the Crows Brown suffered damage to some teeth in an incident at an Adelaide city venue at about 11pm on Saturday night.

The club’s football operations general manager Phil Harper said: “Luke was out on Saturday night with some friends when a fight started near his group and unfortunately, although he was a bystander, he was hit in the face.

“Luke left the venue immediately and reported the incident to police outside the venue before he went to hospital to repair his teeth. He will need some further dental work but should not be ruled out from playing for any extended period.”

Brown, 19, was recruited at the end of last year from Norwood.

He was traded by Greater Western Sydney as a player previously nominated for the draft.
