The Collingwood board has backed president Eddie McGuire following the AFL controversy involving Fairfax journalist Caroline Wilson.
The board met on Tuesday and accepted McGuire’s unreserved apology for derogatory comments he made on radio a week ago about Wilson.
“(The board) expressed its complete and ongoing support for his position as president,” the Magpies said in a statement.
