Collingwood re-sign Goldsack, 3-year deal

Collingwood have secured their swingman Tyson Goldsack for the next three years.

An unrestricted free agent, Goldsack said that he never wanted to leave the Magpies and signed up until the end of the 2017 AFL season.

The 27-year-old played 20 matches this year, for a career total of 124.

The ability to play both ends of the ground and emerging leadership qualities further increased his value to the club.

“I’ve been here for eight years now and I don’t think there is a better place to play football and get the best out of yourself than Collingwood,” Goldsack said.

Collingwood director of football Rodney Eade said Goldsack had taken on more responsibility with the team this year.

“Tyson has always been a selfless, team-oriented player but this year his role within the team grew,” Eade said.

“We’re very happy that he will be with Collingwood for the long term.”
