Round 10 kicks off with Brisbane hosting Collingwood and, with better performances the past two weeks from Brisbane, we should see a more competitive game than what would have been expected a only a few weeks back.

Brisbane surprised all with a win over Essendon back in round 8 (96-86) and last week, pushed Carlton all the way before falling thirteen points short (98-85).

It has been a much welcomed return to form from the Lions who had only won two of seven (Gold Coast and Melbourne) prior to the Essendon win and given their next three games are against three of the current to four teams (Fremantle, Geelong and Hawthorn), one that was desperately needed.

However, the suspension of star forward Jonathon Brown for this game and the next is the last thing the Lions needed after having established some kind of momentum.

Collinwood continued their win/lose sequence this year with a heavy 47 point loss to the Sydney Swans last week.

Having had handed Geelong their first defeat of the season the week prior, it continues a frustrating month for punters and Collingwood fans alike as the Pies struggle to string wins together.

This inconsistency sees them eleventh on the ladder and needing a win to keep in touch with the top half of the competition.

The Pies are 2-2 when playing away as favourites this year and it’s hard, given their up and down efforts in the last month, to tip them with any great confidence but, would expect them to win given their recent record of four from five against Brisbane.
