Blues to play one more home game at MCG

Carlton will play one more AFL home game each season at the MCG under a new five-year stadium deal.

The agreement means the Blues will now play six home games at the MCG and five at Etihad Stadium, reversing their previous setup.

New Carlton president Mark LoGiudice made the announcement at Wednesday night’s club best and fairest count.

“We have listened to feedback from our members who have expressed a desire for another game at the traditional home of football,” he said.

“I’m delighted that we have been able to deliver on that, while maintaining a strong presence at Etihad Stadium.”

“The new agreements with both stadiums will provide Carlton with a stronger financial return than under the previous deals.

“Most importantly, at the forefront of this negotiation has been our members’ needs and the opportunity to deliver an improved match day experience for Carlton fans.”
