It’s taken three weeks of very public and at times belligerent negotiations, but Collingwood star Dayne Beams is set to be traded to Brisbane.

Magpies president Eddie McGuire suggested his AFL club had sorted a complex deal for Beams to join his brother Claye at the Lions.

It could be rubber stamped as early as Tuesday.

The Lions are slated to offload Jack Crisp along with picks No.5 and 25 in exchange for Beams.

The Magpies will then recruit North Melbourne midfielder Levi Greenwood by on-trading the second-round selection to the Kangaroos.

It means the Magpies will receive Crisp, Greenwood and pick No.5 for Beams.

Beams requested a trade to Brisbane in grand final week, wanting to be closer to his ill father.

The Magpies’ attempts to change the mind of their 2012 best-and-fairest winner were unsuccessful.

New homes for Collingwood’s Heritier Lumumba, Geelong speedster Travis Varcoe and Melbourne ruck-forward Mitch Clark are also expected to be confirmed soon.

Lumumba is joining the Demons and Clark has been signed by the Cats, who will release Varcoe to the Magpies.

“I think it’ll get done this afternoon, it’s all been agreed I think,” Collingwood president Eddie McGuire said while hosting his Triple M radio program.

“The five-way (deal) will go through with everyone included.

“Heritier Lumumba going to Melbourne. Travis Varcoe to Collingwood, Mitch Clark to Geelong, and Beams going (to Brisbane).”

Trade period ends on Thursday.

High-profile disgruntled duo Paddy Ryder and Ryan Griffen are yet to have been granted their wish of fresh starts.

Essendon ruckman Ryder wants to join Port Adelaide, while Western Bulldogs captain Griffen has requested a trade to Greater Western Sydney.
