AFL grand final crowd well behaved: police

Despite the huge crowd and a burst of spring heat, police say the crowd of 98,000 at the AFL grand final was generally well behaved.

Police arrested one man, evicted 14 people from the MCG and issued nine penalty notices for a range of offences on Saturday.

The arrested man was caught trying to enter the playing area at half time.

Others were ejected for being drunk and disorderly and trying to gain entry without a ticket.

Two people tried to smuggle alcohol into the ground and one man was ejected for urinating in a lift at the ground.

Security ejected another 11 people for trespass, intoxication or smoking.
