2012 AFL Round 20 preview – Sydney Swans vs Collingwood Magpies

Saturday 11th August

Competition front runners Sydney host Collingwood (3rd) in the match of the round.

The Swans have their best chance yet to register a win against the Magpies, something they haven’t been able to do in their last 10 matches, dating back to 2006!

The big news this week from the Magpie camp was Coach Nathan Buckley’s decision to suspend key player Dane Swan for breaking an alcohol ban.

The Brownlow medallist is a massive loss as he heads the Pies in Kicks, Disposals and has bagged 21 majors this season – second only to Travis Cloke.

The Pies scrambled to a narrow win over St. Kilda last start and a repeat performance will not be good enough against the Swans but fancy the performance may have served as a wake up call.

Swans have been a model of consistency this year and are looking to make it ten wins on the trot but with Jude Bolton and Sam Reid out for the big clash, they too will have to produce their best.

Swans are 13-5 when it comes to covering the line this season and for this game, they’ve been asked to give 11.5 @ $1.92 but, with the possibility of rain on Saturday night combined with the record the Pies have over the Swans and at ANZ, the Tri Bet of “Either Team under 15.5 @ $2.65 looks appealing.

Head to Head – Swans $1.52, Collingwood $2.55
