Saturday, 22nd September – MCG.
The Hawthorn juggernaut returns this week as they meet Adelaide in a battle for the second spot in the 2012 Grand Final. The Hawks have registered thirteen wins from their past fourteen games; the only loss was a two point defeat (118-116) at the hands of Geelong who kicked the winning goal after the siren.
The defeat seem to spur the Hawks on who have been in devastating form as demonstrated in week one of the finals where the dominated Collingwood and registered a 38 points win (135-97). This kind of form has seen them installed as a very short price favourites ($1.15) despite the fact their opponents, Adelaide ($5.50) have a similar win/loss record for the season.

ADELAIDE 1-39 @ $6.60, 40+ $30.00
Adelaide commenced their final campaign as favourites but came up disappointingly short, losing (71-42) to the Sydney Swans but, by finishing the season in the top four, earned themselves a second bite of the cherry last week and made the most of it eliminating Fremantle (81-71). A concern for Adelaide Coach Brenton Sanderson will be the slow starts the Crows have produced in their two final appearances. A similar effort here and this game could be over well before half time.Which ever angle you look at this game, the Crows certainly seem to be up against it.
Hawthorn have failed only once to score in excess of 100 points in the past fourteen games – on the one occasion they didn’t, they registered 95 points, whilst the Crows have struggled in front of goal in the past two weeks with an aggregate of 17 goals and 21 behinds. That won’t be good enough against the Hawks and add to the mix that the Crows have lost their last five final games away from home, the short price about the Hawks is justified. It may be worth getting on them at the $1.55 to be 2012 premiers and wait until next week.
